Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs) – Publication scheme

Transparency Matters: Accessing Your Information Through STAIRs

We believe in open and clear communication. Under the government’s new Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs), it is now easier than ever to access key details about your home, your landlord, and the services you rely on.

STAIRs is a regulatory standard designed to give residents of private registered providers—like Ability Housing—greater visibility into how we operate, empowering you to hold us accountable.

Our Publication Scheme

To meet government requirements ahead of the October 2026 deadline, we have launched our STAIRs Publication Scheme. This centralised hub brings all essential housing information together in one convenient place, saving you the hassle of having to request it manually.

We regularly update this hub to ensure all information remains accurate, adding new resources whenever required or beneficial to you.

What You Can Find

To help you quickly locate what you need, we have organised our information into clear, accessible categories:

Information Requests

The second element of the STAIRS scheme is that the government requires that all housing providers implement processes to respond to information requests from their tenants by April 2027. Ability Housing is currently developing these processes and will publicise them when they are introduced.
