Social Tenants Access to Information Requirement scheme (STAIRs)
What is STAIRs?
The Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs) is a UK Government standard designed to give people living in social housing clearer rights to information about their homes and landlords. It is designed to make providers completely transparent about how decisions are made, how money is spent, and how services are run.
The government has finalised the policy, and it is being rolled out in two major stages:
-
Stage 1: Proactive Publishing (1 October 2026)
Ahead of this date we have officially launched our new Publication Scheme. We have pulled key data together into one easy-to-find place on our website. This includes information on our performance, spending, health and safety records, and housing management policies.
-
Stage 2: Formal Information Requests (1 April 2027)
From this date, you (or a designated representative) will have the legal right to submit a written request for specific information regarding the management of your home. By law, landlords must respond to these requests within 30 days.
We already publish a large amount of this data on our website, and we are working hard behind the scenes to format everything perfectly for the new standard. We will continue to update this page as more details and guides become available.
