My Service Charges

Service Charges: What They Are and How They Work

When you rent your home from us, you pay your normal rent. In addition to rent, you may also pay extra money each month to help cover the cost of special shared services.

These extra costs are called Service Charges.

What do service charges cover?

Service charges pay for the work we do to look after the shared areas around your home and neighborhood.

Depending on where you live, these services might include:

  • Cleaning: Keeping shared hallways, stairs, entrance doors, and glass windows clean.

  • Gardening and Grounds: Cutting grass, trimming bushes, and keeping shared gardens or outdoor spaces tidy.

  • Lighting and Heating: Paying for electricity and heating used in shared hallways and communal areas.

  • Safety and Security: Looking after shared fire alarms, entry doors, lift maintenance, and security cameras.
