Ability services ‘fully compliant’
Published: 3 Nov 2014
Ability’s registered services were all assessed as ‘fully compliant’ after their annual inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) – an excellent outcome for all the services and a very pleasing endorsement for the staff.
Some of the comments from the reports:
People’s assesses needs, preferences and choices were met by staff that had the necessary skills and knowledge. Staff had effective support, supervision, appraisal and training.
Hillingdon CQC Report
People were supported in promoting their independence and community involvement. One person commented, “Staff help me to shower, I only get help for the things I need. My key-worker takes me out shopping and to social activities.” Another person said, “I have always been independent. I go out to London, visit Windsor Castle and go for long walks.”
Slough CQC Report
We found that people’s needs were assessed and care plans written up about how these needs were to be met. People told us they were consulted about how they wished to be supported and that they were able to raise their views when making plans about their care. We saw that people had signed their care plan to acknowledge their agreement to its contents.
